Agree with this. Klopp wants the midfield to close and chase done at top speed to recover the ball and to play it forward quickly to feet as soon as possible. Neither of which was exactly Alonso's speciality.

 

So Suarez for me by a country mile.

Yeah, maybe the first bit could apply. The second though, did you see him play? I doubt you could find a better/quicker passer of the ball to feet than xabi over the last couple of decades (his near-namesake and fellow Spaniard would rival him over the shorter distances of course)

 

Anyway, while I loved Suarez while he was there, the improvement Xabi would bring to out midfield is greater than what Suarez would bring to out attack imo...

I can’t think of a forward to have ever played the game that Klopp would love to have more than Suarez. On top of that we’d all fucking love to see the mad bastard back playing in a side worthy of his talent.

 

However...Alonso would make a bigger impact/improvement on our current side.
