Always found Colin Irwin a mad one as he was around yet you wouldn't realise it unless you were there watching one of his 44 appearances he made between 79 and 81.

Brian Kettle always has a place in my heart because when I was about 10 my folks took me to Anfield to take a stadium tour. We turned up and went to reception were told there were no tours that day, soz. In reception was Brian Kettle and he said to us, "do you want a tour? I'll take you."

And he fucking did! All access, and as we were leaving the team bus pulled up and the players got out from training and went to go get showered. He took my autograph pad and said "wait there" and went into the changing rooms and got them all to sign.

Class act.
