The Knick - 8.5/10

 

It's an unheralded gem this show. Some great storylines, characters and interesting to see how basic/barbaric medical treatment was like back then. Shame there was only 2 seasons made.

Just watching Transatlantic on Netflix. A true story based on an American woman trying to get people out of France in 1940. Gillian Jacobs is in the lead role, Corey Stoll has a part in there too. I'm quite enjoying it, 7.5/10 for the 1st two episodes.

Three episodes into The English (BBC iPlayer). Wow, this is brilliant.

 

And Emily Blunt. Decent looking. I probably wouldn't say no. (I'm being sarcastic she's truly exceptional).

Love is a good show, I watched specifically because of Jacobs who will always be Britta Perry to me.

 

I mean, a show with both Gillian Jacobs AND Alison Brie? Community struck gold with that pairing.

Community was brilliant, well until the last couple of series anyway. The lingerie shots Brie and Jacobs did are their lasting legacy though.

Changing Ends, show about a young Alan Carr, 8/10. Thought it was brilliant, I like Carr and the kid playing him was boss.

I was teaching a lad to drive and this was being filmed on his road. I saw a few scenes being filmed with the kid and there was a guy standing in the road dressed as an alien. The mind boggles.

The Fear Index - 5.5/10. Skynet goes live on the stock market. 4 episode mini-series which probably could have been better with some tweaking.

Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland? I watched that a week or two back on the iPlayer..I thought it was ok, but thought they could have gone a bit deeper. 6/10 for me.

I have just finished watching Lost again, all 6 seasons back to back. Took me some two months to finish it and I am still recuperating. It went crazy earlier than I remembered. But first episodes are  still absolutely captivating and you can only imagine how mesmerizing it must have been almost 20 years ago. Than is starts getting annoying because nothing gets explained but you are already hooked.

 

I don't know how to rate it.

The Crowded Room.

 

Tom Holland stars as someone accused of murder. However, I’m never gonna find out if it’s true or not cos I had to turn it off after 10 minutes due to my Mrs asking why didn’t he just shoot his webs at the fella they were chasing.

Just finished Jury Duty on freevee. A show shot like a documentary about jury duty except everyone in it is an actor except one person (and he has no idea and thinks it's all real) - and James Marsden plays himself. I enjoyed it. Light and occasionally quite funny shite. 7/10

Enjoyed that myself, some great actors in the cast, Russell T Davies is an excellent writer, and I liked the dystopian setting.

 

Didn't seem overly far fetched thinking what's gone on over the past few years.

Rory Kinnear is one of those actors who doesn't change his appearance or accent, but is always excellent in everything he's in. (Like a modern Jim Broadbent.)
