Full time - Liverpool 0 Villarreal 7

A much changed side given an absolute spanking at the hands of the visiting Villarreal. No complaints with the score, very much deserved as Villarreal were much the better side.

Our full strength 23s side would likely struggle against these as well in fairness.

I thought our formation was mainly to blame for the first half performance, and we were better after we switched to 4 at the back in the second half.

Ki-Jana Hoever did well over the 90 minutes, and I thought Larouci was better in the second half when he was pushed further forward.

Liverpool 0 Derby 1

The visitors lead. A long ball in behind Neco Williams down our right finds their left wing back who cuts the ball back to the edge of the 18 yard box where his team mate has a shot that takes a touch off the outstretched boot of Remi Savage and beyond Jaros.

Half time - Liverpool 1 Derby 1

An even game so far. Derby's number 11 is giving Neco Williams a good few problems down their left wing with his pace.

Our midfield have not really put their foot on the ball to control the game as yet, with most of our better moves being more direct passes down the flanks for Duncan and Glatzel to chase.

Full time - Liverpool 1 Derby 2

The visitors were excellent in the second half. Well organised and disciplined at the back, while carrying a real threat on the counter attack. Can't begrudge them the 3 points as we didn't do enough to take advantage of them being reduced to 10 so early in the second half.

Not a good few days for our youth sides.
