The Guardian and a few others have us linked with him for the summer transfer window. Talk of including Carroll in as part of the deal.

 

Quality player albeit one where again we missed the earlier boat on. This lad could have been had for £4m not too long ago. I think we'll regret not bringing in Mousa Sissoko too. Do we not have scouts in France any longer???

think it was spearing you're thinking of absolute shithouse tackle but doesnt take away from his qualities as a player has some outstanding technique, Ben Arfa would be a huge upgrade on Downing, one of the best dribblers in the league and a proper eye for goal.

It's possible a player plus cash deal allows both sides to save face on Carroll's valuation. The Geordies get to say we bought Ben Arfa for peanuts, AND we got Carroll back for only X amount more. We get to say Ben Arfa is a skillful player, easily worth X amount and he fits in with the manager's philosophy.

 

The whole thing will be for player plus and undisclosed fee - if it happens, and both sides will save a little face.
