Gutted, he was iconic as far as darts goes. Brilliant commentator. Always knew the right moments to be light hearted and then so serious his voice was barely a whisper. Just a brilliant commentator and whilst I had got used to him not being on the darts as he's been ill or part time for the last two years, watching the darts will never quite be the same again.

(By the way, in the reams of brilliant Sid quotes, my favourite was not one from him but about him in The Times (I think) write up of the 2010 Premier League final, which went something along the lines of:

 

"I feared legendary commentator Sid Waddell was going to have to be removed from Wembley arena on an impromptu stretcher such was the reaction to the second of Taylor's remarkable nine darters."
