It's a tabloid argument though. Children have always dressed up in their parents clothes and imitated what they don't understand.

 

Whether it's some singing tramp, or Aunty Julie the village bike, girls (and boys) have negative sexual stereotypes which they will always be exposed to.

 

The recent report about lap dancing classes for girls aged seven is a prime example of the strawman argument the tabloids build.
