There is a documentary on at 21:00 on Beeb1 about Tourettes.

It is a follow up to one made many years ago about a kid who couldn't stop swearing. Now, I know that afflications are not to be mocked, but was mildly funny when he called his teacher a dickhead.

John is not mad was funny but I really felt sorry for him. You could tell he was so frustrated and upset by the things he had no control over.

I seem to remember in the '02 version (updated tonight) he met Prince Charles & called him a "parasite cunt" before asking if Camilla "took it up the arse"?

Stop it! I am crying here. Is that true or your pulling my plonker?

I didn't see the '02 episode.

Just read an article there on the BBC about it.

Awful sad case; he has to lock himself in to the back seat of the car because he can't stop irrational thoughts entering his head all the time and acting on them and he may be tempted to open the door and jump out.

The struggle to not act on the irrational thoughts then causes him to have panic attacks and a myraid of anxiety disorders.

I think it's an absolute credit to him that he's still around.

I can't imagine being able to function and able to get on having to cope with that relentless stress day after day.

I was nearly in tears with sadness when they showed the young lad on the floor with his brother next to him .I just went upstairs to give my lad a cuddle .However I have just been in stitches watching the latest tourettes meeting ." Chopper dyes his pubes ginger "

What a mix of emotions .

It is made easier by the fact they all seem to be laughing in the meeting about there condition " I have gay porn in my hoose"

Now they show the young kids with it ,It makes me feel very sad .

Verdit : Very sad indeed .

I was just wondering if John ever hit out at Dotty, when literally, that second, he has a tic and smacks her square in the face, hitting her nose.

It must be really debilitating. Being trapped inside like that, or feeling you have something or someone else trapped inside you.

The scene where the kid, Greg, was on the floor unable to move anything but to blink, was really touching.

That was a great programme. I wasn't going to watch it but glad I did, sort of. I felt so sorry for the lad years ago, sitting eating on his own and having no friends at all. It must be how Flying Pig feels.

Seriously though, very moving programme. I think anyone suffering from that does incredibly well to live with it. I'm not sure that I could in all honesty.
