I was WAY wrong about them. I used to think they were wank and overrated. I can't believe how wrong I was. Absolutely immense group and definitely one of the most important of all time. Plus, I used to have a mad Beatles hair cut about 4-5 years ago. Never let your step mother near you with a pair of hair sheers. Shears?

As I now realize, you're saying the Beatles are just a band, and that sentiment is correct. However, I was just saying that I was wrong about them. I thought they were shit - I was wrong. I've taken to them and can see why everyone sees them as so important.

The later Beatles stuff is amazing, very good indeed. I'd have them second to Radiohead in the greatest band ever chart just down to the fact that they both did vastly differerent albums and track for track I think the Radiohead ones are better.

 

I love putting bands on pedestals, I've got Radiohead on a massive one; it rules.

No no no no no no, and you were doing so well. Radiohead are a world class band, no question about it, but the Beatles my friend come from a different Universe, and in music terms are second to absolutely nobody.

Wrong.

 

The only thing they might have the edge on is how "They invented music" but that's an issue that I'm not confident enough to argue about due to not being as knowledgable about that claim as I could be.

Wrong on a scale of wrong never before thought possible. I have no particular love for either, but even my gran would admit that the stones and radiohead are not overrated.

 

And why must bands be overrated because you don't like them? Just say 'I dont like them'.

Faustas i see your a Leonard Cohen fan, i tried to get into his stuff but its just too heavy for me although he is a fantastic lyricist, by any chance are you a Tom Waits fan? Usually peole who like Cohen are also into Waits, i personally think he's an amazing musician and anyone who says he's not just doesn't know their music. So there!
