Yeah, but even so, to go through an entire season unbeaten would certainly seem to suggest a certain air of invincibility.

Yes but the fact they never won back to back titles meant that they never built what would be regarded as an era of dominance like us and Utd did.

Also this invincibility was confined to domestic football alone.

I did say it was strange..........United and Liverpool both won titles with relatively poor teams or maybe good teams just in 2nd gear imo because they often played with a major advantage that teams came on to the pitch already beaten - Arsenal's invincibles had the exact opposite problem - everybody wanted to be the first to beat them which makes their achievement remarkable - albeit in a not very competitive league

United now have the problem that they have to be better than their title winning teams not just because of chelsea but because they have lost that air of invincibility

Chelsea are fast developing that advantage of teams going out already beaten - some teams have even rested players against them

Arsenal imo have never enjoyed that type of advantage they have never dominated the game the way we or united ever did

only a small point really but in order to remain a competition if Chelsea have both the financial and psychological advantage then winning the Prem will be doubly difficult not because we may not be a better team than them but because other teams will fight harder against us.

With that in mind its vital that we try to make sure everybody thinks they are in with a chance and debunk the myth that Chelsea are that superior to everybody else - they are a good side but they like united and us in the past have had their fair share of luck this year and last

The 'aura of invincibility' can by its nature only apply to one team at a time.......

Does this make a bit more sense than my first post - I'm unsure having re-read it.....
