I didn't realise this promotion was in liverpool stores, from the comments above it looks like its just on their website. So I think iceman negging me is well tight and it made me cry a bit tbh.

Very insensitive timing and well done anyone who contributed to the removal of any promotion.

Am i right in remembering free plastic hats they gave away on the kop few years ago, with notw on them, universally kicked and torn up if they got in the way, but mainly ignored? I'm kind of sure I do but it seems unbelievable the club would allow it.

Not sure Hooton can claim head office pulled it in all fairness. The deal was to get a £10 coupon from the rag on one day only, which can be redeemed against a £60 shop this weekend. It was only in the rag for one day, never intended to be any longer than that.

As I was saying....this was a one day only voucher. Nobody "stopped" it through twitter etc. It'll all kick off again this weekend as they're doing another one in the sunday rag.

For anyone who's interested they're proudly handing a copy of the rag to all of their 2000 and odd staff at their head office today, and to visitors. They've now linked up with the rag and have some kind of pullout sponsorship.

Incidentally, they backed out of the sunday rag voucher deal at the last minute and went with the mirror and the sunday times instead.

I don't know, mate. He's played in the country for about a decade, he's talked about his admiration for the club, you'd think he'd fucking know.

To be fair to him there are still some lfc fans who are ignorant about the sun, look on twitter and see how many lfc fans follow them and Ill never forget going for an interview in an office a few years ago and a lfc fan atleast in his 50s had cut outs from the sun stuck around his table of lfc celebrating the last fa cup win.

Only played at Anfield against us when the Kop held up a mosaic saying "The Truth" and sang Justice for the 96 non-stop for 6 minutes... And commented about it after the game...

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, who has previously praised the Liverpool fans for their passionate support, commented after the match: “I’m not sure what the fans were singing at the start of the game but when it stopped the noise they made meant no-one could hear what was going on on the pitch.

“I have such respect for this ground and these supporters. What a place this is to play football.”

As unpalatable as it is that Jamie Carragher writes for the right-wing rag that is the hateful Mail, equating it with that other vile rag is strange.

I know Henry isn't from Merseyside etc, but I'm not sure what your point is there, Stu.

One is an evil right-wing rag, the other is an evil right-wing rag that offended grieving families.

I find myself agreeing with Stu here. Henry has no link with Liverpool the club, or city, so Carraghers main reasoning to Henry as to why he shouldn't be earning money from the Sun will be that it's a vile shit stirring paper. If you are not a Liverpool fan then you can only laugh at comments like that from someone who writes for a horrendous, racist, xenophobic rag like the Mail. I still fully expect the Mail to write an article on why the Chelsea fans were correct to prevent that fella from getting on the tube in Paris as he was using the train to try and get into England.

They're both horrible papers. For spreading the type of day to day hatred that sees attacks in the streets, I think the Mail is probably worse. For what the Sun did in 1989 they will forever be a step below everything. But if you write for the Mail, you lose the credibility to have a go at other papers in my eyes.

If you only boycott hateful rags because they picked on you, and not some other poor fuckers, then it's not much of a moral stance is it?

In a perfect world, everyone who boycott the rag. But the world isnt perfect.

Loads of people take servces from the parent group news international(?). Where do you draw the line, party political leanings, membership to certain organisations, beliefs?

Anyway, Im out. we know where we stand and that's the important point.
