It’s fucking hilarious. As someone who used to have the Wetheys in Walton Vale as my local for years and witnessed similar behaviour regularly I can almost guarantee it was for the slightest infraction possible.

They’re volatile environments. My two favourite ones in the one in Walton Vale are:

Some fella was walking out of the pub pissed and did a little drunken stagger sideways towards some people sitting at a a table.

One of the people sitting down said “watch where you’re going Footloose” at which point Footloose went berserk and flipped the table over with about 20 drinks on it causing a mini riot.

He got a life time ban but was back drinking in there within a fortnight. And obviously was known as Footloose by everyone.

Second best one is my mate who has a Scottish wife (he now lives up there with her) had a massive argument with her and she stood up screaming at him and calling him a cunt and said he best not come home that night and stormed out the pub.

He started laughing as soon as she went and said he had their only set of house keys so she’d be back when she realised. She walked to their flat in Rice lane before she noticed then had to walk back fuming and come back in the pub.

My mate is sitting there grinning like he’s just found the golden ticket and waving the keys in front of his face while everyone laughs so she started screaming at him in incomprehensible Glaswegian and threw a full glass of vodka and coke, complete with numerous unmelted ice cubes, at his face but missed and got my other mate who was sitting next to him flush in the gob, then stormed out again with the keys.
