city centre after derby.

I have been lucky enough to get a ticket to bring my 10 year old nephew along to the bluenose game. As a result of this I have to venture into the city centre straight after the game with the young lad, well 40 mins - 1 hour after the game because it will take that long on the bus. Anyway I generally dont go into the city after games and have never gone in after a derby. I was talking to people at villa about it and I have been given alot of negative info. Basically I have been told to avoid all streets from queens square to lime street to church street. I have also been advised not to wear colours and not to allow the nipper to wear colours. I know the derby atmosphere is nasty, but what is the city really like, and should I stop the young lad wearing colours, im sure you can all appreciate that would gut the young lad.

its not that bad!

it seems that the derby could well be on the saturday at 3 as well, so there will still be shoppers etc milling about. If you are going boozing then just pick what pick you are going into. In terms of the blueshite, if they win there is no prob, it is if they lose or there is controversy that some of the wankers really come out. But with there being that many others reds about, i wouldnt worry to much.

It was funny getting the train back into town after the Goodison derby in August.

Me and four mates got on at Kirkdale and it seemed like we were the only Reds on the whole train. All the bitterness and hatred coming out- whilst we tried not to piss ourselves laughing!
