Some other strong contenders today - Enrique, Agger and Gerrard - Hell, even Downing didn't stink.

 

I'm made up for Borini. That'll do him (and, by extension, us) a lot of good.

 

I have to say, I realise the Brendan Rodgers system isn't always going to work and it can be frustrating when it doesn't.... But, damn, it's a joy to watch when it does work!

I would give the third spot to Lucas for the way he broke up most of their attempts to move forward. I can't remember a single one of their midfielders getting too far beyond the half way line (unless they were fouling one of ours). But Henderson got the two goals and attacked all game, so third spot to the Mackem.
