But they do buy into it That is the point. Same with Trump. Common touch, on the side of the normal working good American. Billionaire narcissist.

But that’s not charisma, is it?

that’s an image that been projected that, despite living a life of immense privilege,he has the common touch.

ditto Farage,

He won the largest Tory majority since 1987. Bit more to it than that even if what you say is part of it.

He hid in a fucking fridge and avoided any and all debates. It's not charisma, it's a complete dereliction of any kind of use of ones noggin by a large swathe of the population.

ditto Farage,

Depends how you define charisma I suppose. If not charisma he certainly has the ability to create a perception of himself which has no basis in reality. Maybe its a bit of magnetism, ability to read the room and act accordingly I don't know but despite his privileged background and knee ups you do not do what he has done without some latent ability or characteristic to make it possible. Everyone can lie but having the ability to carry it meaningfully is a skill.

I’ve said before that Sunak made a big mistake in trying to accommodate the loons. They are unmanageable. He should have taken the whip off a few of them as soon as they give him the slightest pretext and brazened it out. It may not have worked, but limping on in hock to cunts like Braverman is like a living death.

GE has to be called. The government are completely broken and can’t go on like this.

He has fucking destroyed them.

It's groundhog day!

You could have wrote that a year ago when they forced Johnson out, or in Autumn when they forced Truss upon us and then out 5 minutes later.

They must be heading for oblivion at the next election?

The thing with charisma is that it's hard to put your finger on what makes someone charismatic.

But Johnson certainly has (or had?) a very strong appeal with a certain demographic. As I've said before, there's something about a fat bloated mess who can barely string together a coherent sentence that appeals to fat bloated messes who can barely string together a coherent sentence. Some (too many) upper-middle aged men and fawning women love that he's an incompetent, fat, ugly, buffoon who is promoted far above his ability and gets away with shit.  The men subconsciously imagine it might be them in the same position so are happy to egg him on, the women imagine it could be their son or husband.

Idiots.

The charisma label comes from people who take the daily mail's article writers words as gospel being told that he's charismatic. People like that Littlejohn turd.

Underestimate him at your peril. He is anything but an idiot.

He doesn't get where he is because he's a scheming genius, he gets where he is because the structures of our society are utterly diseased. Anybody with a pulse could and can see what he's about, but people enable him anyway because he feeds them chum. The media is fucked, the police are fucked, parliament is fucked, the class system is a cancer. All of these things combine to empower human effluent like him.

Johnson is a mirror to all that's wrong about Britain. A bit like Trump in sense that he's just made the corruption more obvious.

Totally agree. He has had the best education in the world money can buy. Anyone with his advantages in life provided they were not mentally deficient would stand a fair chance of success in their chosen field.

My field was tech sales and I can see much of the sales approach in him. The product he is selling is Boris Johnson and he is good at it.

He didn't become PM on merit, he became PM because those that really decide who leads the party new full well he would be that bad that they could get away with absolute fucking murder because no matter what, his behaviour will be the headlines. He was always the sacrificial lamb but far too narcissistic to ever realise it. Tufton St aren't idiots.

Eton, Classics at Oxford, Chair of Oxford Union, Political Correspondent at the Telegraph, Editor of the Spectator, MP, Cabinet under Howard and Cameron, Mayor of London, Foreign Sec under May then leader of the Tories and big Majority as PM.

You can only blag so much. Granted he pretty much fucked them all up but still.

He accomplished what he set out to do. Off course it was all lies but he sold it. He is now the darling of the Tory right as a result. A complete success. He does not give a fuck about the consequences. He won.

He didn't win. Covid and his partying was his nemesis. Brexit is being shown for what always threatened to be ; an expensive

exercise in keeping out Johnny Foreigner . Most people know we need workers from the EU. They can see inflation ripping a hole in their pockets and to cap it all energy bills are higher than the rest of the EU. I don't think any of these outcomes are what he set out to do.  He definitely hasn't won, nor will he imo.

Most people don't give two fucks about party gate compared to brown folk in boats. It will be sold as a stitch up and when Sunak spends billions and still they come and the Tories get wiped out they will reach for the only winner they perceive they have left. Again backed by lies and false promises Johnson the man of the ordinary man shall once again run. Sounds far fetched but if someone had told you several years ago the state of politics the US would find itself in you would have thought it was a wind up. These are strange new times.

I'm not saying there is no scenario where Johnson gets the nod to pull the Tories out of the fire, I just think it's far more likely he's a busted flush, albeit still lobbing grenades at Sunak from a safe distance and pandering to the Daily Heil faithful
