This new Champions League format could be a pain if you mess up compared to the normal schedule. You could face an extra 4 games if you end up in the playoffs. 

 

36 teams from 4 seeded pots. The teams in black are confirmed. It's one big League table.

 

We play 8 games, 2 from each pot split 4/4 home and away. You play 1 home and away from each pot. Country protection but not for teams who have 5 places (Germany/Italy). The top 8 teams go through to the last 16 automatically. 9th to 24th enter into the playoffs. 

 

There is a chance we could face Amorim and Alonso or even face Real Madrid in one of the 8 games.

With all these extra matches we should play our kids in the first 8 matches aiming for 24th or better. Then field our best team in the qualifiers. Our first team need to play 2 matches and can be rested for the first 8,

Giving our new gaffer the title "Head coach" is purely wrong. It's degrading him to an employee who'll report to Richard Hughes who reports to Pedro Marques who reports to Julian Ward who reports to Michael Edwards, Kind of a 5th level boss - the sergeant in the army or the corporal. Yet he's the one in charge of the team. It's just bollox and could make Arne's job more difficult than it already is.

It's absolutely fine. He's a coach and he's the main one. 

 

Irrespective of title, it's the same as ever... it'll be him that gets the statue or it'll be him fired in 3 years time.

Obliging him to stand in front of the media and take all the flak, whilst Eddie and his nerdy chums hover in the background, briefing against him. If others expect to take some of the credit for successes, then they need to be ready to step into the spotlight and shoulder some of the blame for any failures. I haven't yet seen any evidence to suggest they've woken up to that fact.
