I said before this game we would drop points at some juncture with 4 forwards instead of 5 and with Alisson out. Was very, very close to happening. Only moments of extreme individual quality got us out of it.

 

There's not much we can do about not having a 2nd keeper that can be a replica of Alisson, but the forward line is something we have to think about. 

 

The strength of the front players is when they're all there, these aren't the days of being able to rely on 3 otherworldly players. I have a preference for Gakpo, but besides that, in general, the 4 besides Salah are individually not good enough.

We've used all our get out of jail free cards today, and all our community chests and chances, and rabbits feet and horse shoes and four leaf clovers and origis. We were fucking awful but its games like these that give everyone that massive belief that we can win this fucking league.

Villa away was different as we dominated and final kicked the door in with robbo and mane.

Today, we huffed and puffed and as bad as our football was, the attitude to keep going and dig it out is very encouraging.

Weird subs, apart from endo obviously, as we had no penetration once mac and dom went off.

In fairness, we fucking left them enjoy it far too much. We concede way too many as chances that Ali covers up for. That needs to stop.

We're in the bottom 3rd in the league for giving up big chances. City are top. They give nothin' to nobody.

Shit for 90% of the game then finally woke up when going behind, people piss on about a lack of investment and quality of players(the former is a generally a fair shout) but to me neither was the issue here, once again it's the mental attitude of the players on show that cost us here, turned up expecting a win and the players that should be leading spent half their game half arsing it and waltzing about.
