A mere 14 in the league, to add to last season's 12. I don’t watch them unless we're involved, but clearly against everyone else they must be the most swashbuckling attacking team in the history of English football.

I remember alarms bells started ringing for me about Roy Evans when I noticed him bemoaning the lack of 'consistency', as if it was something you could work on in training rather than a function of getting everything else right. It's a great way of deflecting responsibility, whether it's conscious or not, from management. You showed you had the necessary tools last week, not my fault if you don't use them this and every other week. And whaddya know, the Rice Krispie goblin is bemoaning the lack of 'consistency'. The parallels with the decline and fall of Liverpool's empire are uncanny. The difference is that we warned them, but they knew better and continue to think so. Stay at the wheel, you crazy diamond.

I find it strange when United supporting friends/colleagues/ neutral football pundits etc that you genuinely think have their head screwed on have actually convinced themselves that Solksjaer will succeed. As you say, the parrallels are there in glorious high definition.

 

The biggest worry I would have for them is it would seem as though the goblin has convinced himself. The historic post lockdown run will give him plenty to talk about on the after dinner speech circuit for decades to come. He will just need a new voice as his current one will clear the room in 2 minutes

Ditto. However I am glad they are so deluded. Everyone with an ounce of football nous knows he is woefully short of experience and ability to manage at top level . Definitely should have got Poch but they have let sentiment and delusion reign and have convinced themselves he is the future. On the other hand I am sure Glazers are secretly delighted with Oles lack of pulling power for young talent.

This one has rumbled him let's hope it's not catching Ole is just out of his depth as manager/coach. Tactically naïve, I have never been able to detect what system he coaches, he has four players who want to play central striker, Martial, Rashford, Greenwood and Ighalo but no natural wide players, James is barely Championship class and should never have been bought. Same can be said of the cart horse that is Maguire, my God he is rubbish as is Lindelöf. Compare these two numb-nuts to that young kid at Leipzig, how do we continually miss talent like that ? The situation is crying out for a Director of Football to overhaul the complete set up, but in the immediate future get talking to Poch and find Ole another position if he wants to stay.

I mean, he’s fast, direct and eager, but if you used those terms to describe someone’s technique in the sack you might realise that... they aren’t really up to much. The early goals duped some fans in to thinking he was the new Ronaldo but then out of nowhere he looked like a player that couldn't get in the Shrewsbury team 2 years ago and didn't even stand out in the Championship last year.

I laughed so hard, I had to go and change my pants. These are the same fans who used to sing 'Thursday night, Channel 5' and now they think getting knocked out at the semi final stage after being 1-0 up is some form of achievement.
