I hope that means we're serious about Milner then. Not that he's the pinnacle of midfielders out there but he's got a great mix of ability and lucasness.

 

I dont think he is simlar to Lucas at all, if he plays cm he is more of a box to box player, he is decent defensively but not good enough to be a dm.

 

Id be happy to have him in the squad but if he is being brought in to be our dm next season it is not going to solve our problems and he will be playing the role in a similar way to what gerrard did last season.

I agree.  Instead of bringing in yet another number 10 type, it would be nice to have a versatile player with a high workrate. I still miss Kuyt and see Milner as cut from the same cloth.

Yeah I don't get why he didn't play at the weekend, we sent him out to the championship, he was playing against championship level players, we bring him back, we play a championship club in the cup and he doesn't even get a sniff.
