How do you know he's in talks with Liverpool. Doubtful considering he's in South America preparing for Copa America final. We might be interest or had talks befor ehe went to Copa tho.

He has apparantly said that himself... And you have to be half decent at least to get into the Argentinian squad... He is still only 22...so he will still continue improving.

Dont know anything about his strenghts and weaknesses.... how quick he is..how tall...etc... But as mentioned he do have a haircut that would have done the Liverpool players in the late seventiess proud!! ;)

Made one league appearance for Boca Juniors before moving to AC Milan. Refused to sign deal with Boca Juniors and instead left for Italy without the club's knowledge to sign for a much higher salary. Top quality defender for future. Argentinian U/20 international. Dual national with Italy so does not need work permit. Helped Argentina win the World Youth Cup in 2001. Went on loan to Alaves in 2001/02 and impressed during his time there leading to interest from serveral big clubs.

He is a great manmarker and can play in the centre of defence or in a defensive midfield holding role. Strong, good in the air and reasonably pacy. Despite his young age, he is not short of experience, having played many game while on loan. Currently, he is at the Copa America and Argentina are in the Finals.
