It'll never go hungry then!

It's thick as fuck to be honest - if humans weren't around it'd starve to death within days, or eat something it shouldn't.

Ever since she got a dog I've a new respect for cats - they can go out and get their own food, come and go as they please, and look after themselves.

I find dogs to be anxiety-ridden, time thieves.

And don't get me started on scruffs who let their dog sleep in their bed.

Time to limit the number of dogs a person can be in possession of?

Caterham dog attack: Dog walker was victim of mauling, police say

The victim of a fatal dog attack in Surrey was walking a number of dogs at the time, police have revealed.

The 28-year-old woman from London was attacked in Caterham just before 14:45 GMT on Thursday.

A second woman who received treatment for dog bites has since been discharged from hospital.

Police said eight dogs were seized at the scene by officers and the owners of these dogs had been identified and were being kept informed of investigations.

The dogs were not believed to be banned breeds and the second woman was not thought to be linked to the woman who died, police said.

Mate of mine has a cane corso. The thing sits and stares at you like it wants to eat your face off. I'm a dog person and fancied one when he got it as a pup, lovely slobbery softy. Now I wont go round his place unless its away in another room or its box. Think I'll pass in case one swallows my kids.  Pitbull on steds.

Cane Corso (Black, Face)

Not as big as this one thought not far off.

Its like his bodyguard. You stand up it stands. Follows you about keeping between you and him. At all times. Scarey. Apparently they have a bite pressure stronger than a lion. How you could have one with kids is mental.

Fuck that.

with a large head, alert expression, and muscles rippling beneath their short, stiff coat, Corsi are at a glance intimidating creatures. Their imposing appearance is their first line of defense against intruders. As one writer put it, 'An understated air of cool competence, the kind of demeanor you'd expect from a professional bodyguard, is the breed's trademark.' Corsi are intelligent, loyal, eager to please, versatile, and intensely loyal to their humans, but are also assertive and willful, and can end up owning an unwitting owner

The guy in the picture (Jason Corey) has a youtube channel as he owns two of them. The older one is called Bruce Wayne and the younger one is called Joey Justice.

There was a video I also watched that listed a particular trainer's most dangerous dogs as a result of training with them - first she said the Cane Corso has a bite force of around 600 psi - the same roughly as a male lion.

But these weren't even the most dangerous dogs on her list. That honour was given to the Caucasian Shepherd which looks oddly cute but is like a bipolar dog. It's like a bear, which is ironic as it was bred as a bear hunting dog. A dog that hunts fucking bears!

Ace vid cheers for that. Think you have to have an appreciation that any dog is a potential killer. I've been bitten more by my neighbors Chihuahua than any of the German Shepherds I've had. But I know who I' rather take on.

Malinois are mental. Yeah but controllable. Ish

Best description i heard was if you throw a ball of a cliff a German Shep will run to the edge and spend a hour trying to find a way down to get the ball. A Mal... will jump of the cliff catch the ball mid air and wag his tail all the way down.

Agree with all that. The crazy thing is dogs became tamed purely as a result of eye contact between the dogs and humans creating a bond. Yet eye contact between a dog and a human can just as easily also trigger an aggressive response. It really can go either way and if a dog takes a disliking, it's probably best to break eye contact and keep as far as possible!

I liked his tip about the slow feeder and the frozen kibble. I might get a couple for my families' Saint Bernards.

Most dogs were mongrels when I was a kid, they used to wander around on their own shitting. They didn't have coats, nor were they bred to be half labrador and half ballpoint pen. People didn't photograph them or give them food fit for human consumption. And the world was a better place for it.
