Why is this even a discussion?

If we can afford him, GET HIM! He is EXACTLY what we need, and is definately not a lottery ticket. He can score goals, assist, and link up play. He is a creative mastermind with great vision and technique.

Yes. If there was younger ones available with the quality of Sneijder, we could get them, but there isn't.

Seriously.. Think about it. This summer we were after Dempsey for the EXACT same position. We are crazy if we are not leasty trying to get him to Anfield.

How can you say that? Barring about 10 players in world football, EVERY player is a lottery ticket to some degree, let alone a player who has been injured or in poor form for 18 months now. You can make an argument that it's a lottery ticket worth buying, depending on the price, but I can't say how you can say he wouldn't be a big risk for us.

There is a younger one available and his name is Isco.

Brilliant player at his best and in a far higher class than both, but being as chuffed as I was when Kewell and Cole chose us costing little or no transfer fee, only to find out with horror they had so little left in the tank, makes for uncomfortable memories.

If he's still the player he was, whether it takes him the rest of the season to get fit or not, then it would be an absolutely inspired signing should our poker face yield the pot. If not, we've definitely been there before....
