Oliver King was a young footballer who played for Woolton FC. He died at the age of 12 from Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS).

 

His parents have set up a foundation in his name. His foundation will help to introduce screening for all 13 - 35 year olds by simply having an ECG which could detect early signs of this happening.

 

The petition is to demand more defibrillators in schools/colleges/gyms etc..

I've signed this and would recommend that anyone who has a young family does too.

 

It's the sort of condition that you don't give much thought to until you know someone who has suffered it.

I knew a kid at school back in the late 80's that ths happened to. He came back from a Rugby game and got in the shower and died from a heart attack, he was fed 13.

In most cases there is. Normally through medication, surgery or changes in lifestyle.
