tbh I can't see Bellamy back playing for Rafa considering the unrest around him last time. he'll always be a spiky character to say the least and I don't know if Rafa would want such a high maintenance player in what is going to be a crunch season for him.

I think he's exactly the type of character we need and could have done with all season. The bloke is a fighter. The only consistent fighter we've had in our squad all season is Masch. Add Bellars into the mix and we might have got somewhere this year. Yes he's spikey but he's no Joey Barton is he. He's as passionate as fuck about his game and he'll fight like the mental bastard he is to get a result.

Go get him Rafa. Give the lad a contract and a mission to get us back to the top four.

absolutely, I said earlier in the thread he'd be ideal, he brings an abundance of fight and pace, but I just can't see it happening for the reason I mentioned. Also we have Jovo on his way who is also a left winger and striker, I don't think we'll spend on a guy who plays in the same positions.

I'm sure there's players at the club now who can't stand Benitez, but it doesn't stop them working with him.

I haven't liked previous bosses, but if the job has been right and the company has been right then it's a pretty small issue.

But isn't that supposedly the reason he wants to leave Citeh?

I dunno actually. But I reckon he'd love another chance at his boyhood club, though I can't remember the circumstances around him leaving. If he'd really wanted to he could have insisted he was staying I suppose.

How would Bellamy be used?

Upfront with Torres or wide left / right?

Weirdly enough Rafa never really gave him a go on the wing where he excells for City this season. I remember the away game where Rafa played three up front with Crouch on the left wing and Bellamy as the centre forward. :wallbutt:

I can also remember him playing Crouch Bellamy and Kuyt up front away at West Ham in 2007 and we looked really good going forward. Won 2-1, but it should have been 4 or 5. It would have been had Bellers taken a couple of good opportunities...

Think we did the same away at Watford aswell.

3 Different sort of players, in many ways I think it's the approach Tottenham have got with the Russian, Crouch and Defoe.

You've got Defoe who is small, fast and an excellent finisher, Crouch who is good on the floor and unselfish, and the Russian who is somewhere in between.

Bellamy, Crouch and Torres would be an excellent striking selection.

I'd have him back, mainly because of our lack of options. But is their any manager who hasn't had major issues with him? Similiar to Crouch, his ability and performances here have been wildly over exaggerated. Still decent though.

I think Crouch was largely quality for us, Bellamy less so.

That said, I think we need Bellamy's attributes more at the moment.

Bring him back, throw him on the left, tell him to tear into the opposition and play his own game. A most unlikely scenario though!
