It could be the advertising hoardings, y'know the revolving things, They're shared between Anfield and the pit. But, that would be wrong they're on before and all through the games. That's the best guess I can offer though.

Isn't this just that hoax question that did the rounds a few years back, just worded slightly different..

 

If it is it went something more like this - What enters the field of play in a football match at half-time, but doesn't leave until the match is over? If it's a Saturday match it leaves after the game, but if it's a midweek game it remains until the next day. It only happens in the English Premiership, not in Scotland or the lower divisions?

 

if you google that you get a lot more responses, most to forums with say it's a hoax, but still guess... most go for the ball, as apparently that doesn't get collected the day of a midweek game - not my guess, i'm going with hoax, but this one seemed to be the most realistic.
