Chickenpox

I'm 38 and have come down with Chickenpox today after both of my daughters had it over Christmas. Has anyone had it as an adult? It's not too bad at the moment but it's one of those illnesses that everyone says you don't want as an adult so I'm not too sure what to expect.

Yeah it's something you don't want as an adult. I got it as an 11 year old and I looked like I'd been bubble-wrapped for about a week. Still have a few scars. Get yourself 20 gallons of calamine lotion, fill up the bath and lie in it.

Go and get the anti viral medicine before it turns nasty. It can be horrendous, a couple of mates had it last year.

Same thing happened me a few years ago, I think I was 35 and got it from my 2 year old the week before Christmas. My memory of it is a bit hazy and I'm not sure if it was the pox or the amount of herb I self medicated.

It just felt like an itchy cold for the first few days. At it's worst I couldn't do anything but try to lie in bed for a few days but it wasn't the "Oh Jesus, I'm going to die screaming" feeling I was lead to expect.
