Punters backing Liverpool

For the first time ever in the Premiership Liverpool are a shorter price with Paddy Power to win the title than their arch rivals Manchester United. Rafa Benitez's boys are now 6/1 from an opening 7/1 with United out to 13/2 from 6/1.

Paddy Power said: "Despite Liverpool's iffy pre-season results Rafa's quiet revolution over the last few seasons has been steady but plainly not unnoticed.

"Jose Mourinho may think otherwise but our punters are now backing the Reds to a shorter price than United to give Chelsea a run for their money this season, something we've not seen in 15 seasons of the Premier League.

"Whilst United are facing up to life without big names like Keane and Van Nistelrooy, Liverpool have certainly plugged some of their holes with the signings of Bellamy and Pennant."

Sorry mate, saw it on google news and just pasted it. Wanted to highlight the change in attitude - as far as the gaming public is concerned - on Liverpool's chances, first time in fifteen years and all that.

It'll be interesting to see what odds that gooback Fred Done offers us this year. 30-1 last season- he won't have the balls to do that again.

That's the fella Fred Done, not Paddy Power, he's the Manc twat who was making snide comments.
