Ah brother, Plastic Fang and Scream Dracula are poor imitations of once great bands.

The first 2 albums by the Blues Explosion are ace, as are Paint as a fragrance and Circa Now! by RFTC. Accept no imitations Comrade.

The first 2 Pumpkins albums are also excellent.

 

EDIT: also some Sebadoh stuff might be to your current tastes.

Sounds like it. I knew 5 of the tracks beforehand. The others sound good too.
