I’m not a fan of the Petersons, generally. This particular podcast was on my youtube feed, for whatever reason. The title struck me as being interesting, Michaela admitted ignorance on the whole Israel / Palestine problem, and I have to say, I thought the idea worked. Uninterrupted opposing views, by the two participants.

I find it interesting that Israel is trying to pin chemical weapon making instructions on Hamas at the same time doctors on the ground are treating unusual burn injuries from people injured in Israeli air raids. Especially after the use of white phosphorus.

Before it was Palestine it was the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judea It was the Romans who christened the area Philistea after the Philistines the enemy of the Jews, they did this to piss of the Jews who they couldn't suppress. Both sides have historical and legitimate claims to the land. 

 

I want to see peace there as much as anybody but how can it happen when you have extremists on both sides who will not stop until the other is eradicated.

That’s your logic not mine. I never spoke with that logic. You know that. And you know it very well.
 

The Muslim community in the UK is not trying to ethnically cleanse British people out of the UK. Nor are the Irish and Italian Americans trying to ethnically cleanse anyone out of the US. 

 

The conflict is political, not religious. If Israel signs the 2002 Arab peace proposal and gives Palestinians their rights then there would be no conflict. Muslims, Christians and Jews have lived in peace for centuries before the zionists arrived.

The Palestinians have accepted 22% of the land for the sake of peace in Oslo. What bigger compromise can they make? The zionists want 100% of the land and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
