How could he be offside, the ball went backwards ffs

Far as I know that's not in the rules, it's whether the player is in an offside position.

.......

It is a common misconception that the ball must be played forward for an offside offence to be committed. This is incorrect however, as an offside offence is related to the position of the player in relation to the last two opponents, the ball and the opponent's goal line rather than the direction the ball is played.

What the fuck is wrong with people, hopefully they get a good kicking

Always amazes me the idiocy of people.  Doing something in poor taste in the age of social media and cameras everywhere.  Won’t be long before they’re found and grovelling for an apology.  Cunts.

Brighton are away to Marseille on Thursday and we've the Belgians at home. Regardless of how we set up, they could be should be fucked physically when we play them on Sunday.

I agree that we should still play a bit more conservative against them though. Make them run even more chasing Darwin Diaz and salah into the wide open spaces they'll leave.

This is the FA- site:

A player is in an offside position if:

  • any part of the head, body or feet is in the opponents’ half (excluding the halfway line) and
  • any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent
