I'll be a bit pissed off if City get anywhere near the £60m mooted for Sterling with only one year on his contract.

Considering we’ve just sold a far better player for half that you’d think that fee is a bit fanciful. He’s got a couple of years on Mane like but he’s been playing first team football since the age of 17 and he’s a pace merchant, once that’s gone he’s just a forward with a fanny shot.

It's annoying seeing Barca develop Gavi and of course he's a baller and he's put centre mid, whereas we develop a baller like Trent and he's put as a full back, whereas Tyler Morton gets minutes in CM.

I'm concerned that if we developed Pedri he'd be stuck playing LB.

What’s wrong with Trent like? He’s the best right back in the world. If Ramsey has anything about him maybe Klopp see’s an opportunity to stick Trent in the middle and let him break out wide from there but I wouldn’t be arsed if he never moved from his natural right back position for the rest of his career, he’s ace at it.

I'm not sure why people are expecting a midfielder. Literally nothing has changed in that area since last season. And even if Ox goes, it's not like he was a big part of the plans/Carvalho could just take his place.

Being in for Tchouameni does not intrinsically mean we are interested in a midfielder and that we'll buy someone else, it could just mean we were interested in him specifically.

It’s the Sumner Transfer Thread. It exists purely so we can bitch and moan until the window shuts.

Announce Gavi.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing a different shape, with somebody covering RB while Trent is free to move elsewhere.

Without a doubt Trents worst performances have been when he's been at right back but has ended up drifting centrally during the game, maybe it's to get on the ball more, or to have some long range shots, it seems like it's a tactical decision because I imagine Jurgen would be going apeshit at him if it wasn't, but it hasn't worked so far.

There is obviously no way we are getting Gini back on loan.

As has been said previously Klopp takes a long term view on signings. It looked like we were signing Fekir, but then spent the money on Allison instead - and then never bought another player with Fekir’s attributes.

The centre half bullshit of Jan 21, when we  were desperate but waited for Konate instead.

He obviously wanted Tchouameni, but then we spent the money on Nunez when he went to Madrid, instead of another midfielder.

If there’s not a midfielder available who Klopp feels is good enough, or there’s someone he thinks will be better and available next season he’ll wait.

Ben Davies says hi!

I'm sure if City played De Bruyne at RB he'd be lauded as the best RB in the world.

We talk about transfers and best midfielders we could get this summer but Trent moving to CM would solve that.

Robertson is an equally good full back as Trent but I don't bang on about him moving to CM.

Gerrard played a load of games at RB in his early days.

I think klopp's reaction when asked after Southgate played him in midfield told you what he thinks about it.
