Excluding anyone who also played for us, it’s another vote for Southall from me.

I thought Sheedy was a decent player but I've seen him interviewed a few times and he seems quite bitter about Liverpool. Neville Southall was probably the best keeper in the world for a few years in the 80s. A few Evertonians were surprised that I'd said that and didn't even say Bruce Grobellaar was better. I also like Southall as a person as he was really witty and clued up about a lot of things when I saw him at a sportsmans dinner a few years back.

 

Quick mention to Graeme Sharp who has attended a lot of Hillsborough memorial services and was at St George's Hall when the results of the inquiry were released.plus he was fairly objective when he was a radio pundit, unlike Ian Snodin.

 

Of the modern players Leighton Baines seems decent and has always been a good left back who can take a good free kick. Injuries ruined the later part of his career though.
