Sean Dyche: Sky Sports apologises for 'insensitive' comments about Everton manager's clothes - BBC Sport

Sky Sports has apologised for "insensitive" comments made about Everton manager Sean Dyche during the 4-0 defeat by Aston Villa on Sunday.

Commentators Bill Leslie and Andy Hinchcliffe said his clothing made him look like a "croupier" - someone who oversees gaming tables at casinos.

Well his job at Goodison is a massive gamble.

Assuming that, rather than personal offence, it's more about them essentially taking the piss out of him wearing a black armband for the lad who died at bramley-moore and the potential for people who knew the guy to have been watching.

edit: actually read it, yeah, seems fair enough. Insensitive is about right, but it's just a mistake.

They both want their arses kicking - and a few weeks suspension - for that.  Even if you've not done basic preparation to find out about the wreath-laying and the planned fan tribute, you just keep your gob shut when you see someone wearing a black armband, because you know that the story behind it isn't going to be funny.

Hahah. And I was listening to a couple of Leeds fans yesterday getting all excited about who they were gonna buy with the Gnonto millions. He's had dog's abuse from their fans too.

Adams would be a significant upgrade on what they've got: i.e. he might get more than 5 goals a season.

That’s an average of six goals per season - well, 6.25 - so “significant upgrade” seems a generous description.

Hang on, isn’t a straight loan even worse for Everton, because they can’t convert it to equity shares, but instead have to pay it back with interest?

FYI This headline is VERY misleading. From the actual article:

"That may well be true but the club will now not be getting any from MSP. But the U.S. group is proceeding with the £100million loan to the stadium company, although this is now just a straightforward loan and not convertible debt.

This should enable Moshiri to repay the £40million he borrowed from English businessman Andy Bell in May which was always intended to act as a bridging loan for the larger MSP investment."

In other words MSP IS indeed giving a 100million loan, but it will just be a straight loan instead of having the ability to convert it into equity. The 25% stake is off the table.

Yeah, forget the wholesale destruction of property and infrastructure, the countless civilians killed, and the decimation of almost an entire generation of the population - the real question is how do Everton suffer?

Russia attacking Ukraine has really screwed us over. I’m sure Usmanov would have probably wangled something to sort out this stadium funding

How come evey time there's a war it ducks us over:dodgy:

It’s all very shady.

The Athletic reports that the deal fell through due to opposition by one lender, Rights and Media Funding Ltd.

According to a previous article in the Guardian:

The club has also received about £150m in loans from an opaque lender called Rights & Media Funding Limited (RMFL), a Cheshire-based company its lawyers said last year competed “with some of the largest names in sports financing”, although it does not possess a single employee, a website or a phone number.

As the Guardian reported in November, RMFL also appears to have borrowed much of its money from a company based in the offshore secrecy jurisdiction of the Bahamas, which started lending to RMFL just six months after the offshore firm was established and does not reveal its source of funds.

for the ground?

MSP were going to pay £150m for 25% of the club - £100m towards the stadium and £50m for other expenditure.

MSP are going to lend £100m towards the stadium - not part of above.

The stadium funding shortfall is believed to be approx £250m in total.
