My youngest, not particularly interested in football, but a United fan thanks to the influence of his mother has now converted. A stroke of genius on my part. He is completely Star Wars obsessed and I was watching Coach Carter the other day when I remembered that Samuel L Jackson is a Liverpool fan, so i told him.

 

"Mace Windu is a Liverpool fan? I support Liverpool too."

 

Easy.

 

The other one, a dvout football obsessed crouchamaniac liverpool fan commented after the Chelsea match "Why do they look so sad. It's not like they would have won in the final or anything."

She supports Man City. I like having her around because it irritates Mrs RiS. She always supports Liverpool in the big matches.

I've got the one at the moment, she knows what Football is but is too young to understand teams (she's 2) - as long as she has an interest in football I'll be delighted but hopefully the strong Liverpool interest in the family will sway her from the likes of Sheffield Utd, Manks and Chelski!

On a similar theme, we were in town this morning and heading back to the car park, when my five year old asks if he could go into the club shop. Now usually I'm horrified when he relates to a brand and knows everything about it, but I was proud of his knowledge today. He recognised the photos of (and I quote): "Carra - he's your favourite, isn't he dad?. Deadly Dirk. He's big, he's Red, his feet stick out of bed, Peter Crouch. Peter Crouch. Steven Gerrard - we don't mind him now, do we dad? Good, because he's my favourite. There's Xabi Alonso. Mum loves him."

I don't mind the prequels. Obviously they aren't a patch on the original films, but I'd rather he watched them than fucking Pokemon or some such shite. His favourite character in the six films is Han Solo, so it isn't all bad.
