Personally, I thought Curtis Jones was excellent. Our best midfielder in the 1st half when it was tough, made tackles, pressed, always looking for the ball and finding space, tidy on the ball and creative when it mattered with the interplay for the crucial goal before the break.

Frankly, he showed all the reasons why Elliott has not worked all season and I agree with Dave that he should play every game now for the rest of the season to see if he can consistently perform

A really good, accurate report as usual.

1st Arsenal goal was all about the run of the ball and it all went their way.

2nd Arsenal goal was more about poor collective defending - especially when the only attacking player in the box gets a free header.

But LFC outplayed, outclassed? Not really - we gave as good as we got, but we never really accounted for Odegaard and he was always their outlet and allowed them the time and space to get out of trouble.

Once Salah had scored it was all Liverpool - with the odd isolated breakaways.  Arsenal's mentality crumbled.

With a bit more luck (or a penalty on target) this would have been an LFC win.

Arsenal somehow managed to out-shithouse Villa - their most overworked "player" was the physio who spent more time on the pitch than some of the players.

How does their keeper somehow go down "injured" after Robbo's miss when he didn't even get near the ball.  This injury lasted so long that both teams had a drinks break.

Jesus and Saka spent as much time on their backs/backsides as they did on their feet.  But then miraculously they could sprint after whoever had the ball once they were allowed back on the pitch.

I was surprised that Jesus didn't go down when Bobby hugged him after the match.

Anyway, it was what it was, LFC showed a lot of fight and commitment and turned a losing situation into a well-earned point.

I actually thought that Henderson was MOM as he took care of the ball, made lots of unselfish runs and made sure that Tierney knew when he was out of order.
