  1. 1. Should we sign him?

Have always been rooting for him to do well but there’s been almost no signs of progress in the 18 months he’s been here and is currently completely devoid of confidence.

It’s looking less and less likely that he will be a success here so I would try and get as much money as possible for him and get someone else in.

Big fan of his obviously, but that performance yesterday was bordering on disgraceful. He got himself booked by flattening Evans in the most obvious way possible and did his level best to get a second yellow for dissent.

Missing chances you can forgive, we've seen Haaland miss glaring  chances, I remember Aguero putting the ball over bar from three yards away from an empty goal. Getting caught offside 3 or 4 times a game is unforgivable though. He's a confidence player, but he needs to grow some sack and get himself out of this funk.

That being said, it doesn't help when the rest of the team play zimmerframe footy.

Not to the extent he's missing you can't. Some out the stat up that since he's been here his XG was 24 goals and he has scored 14

You forgive Haaland because more often than not he scores, last year XG 32 goals scored 36, this years XG 16 scored 14(in 15 games)

He had a stinker yesterday but it's distasteful the glee with which people who don't rate him jump on him, I've never seen it to this extent with any other players, even ones who've shafted and humiliated us. He gives his best, clearly loves playing here, and he's also been- for want of a better word - klopped.

There's only so long that we can keep putting games in a silo as a strawman defence of his performances and acting like they're one offs when the reality is it's a pattern and the good performances, rather than the bad, are the anomaly.

Klopp has form for buying players not for what they are now, but what he wants them to be. The Nunez we get now probably isn't the one he'd be somewhere else, for better or worse. Clearly worse, at this stage.

This is becoming the Utd gave Ferguson 5 years of defences.

Klopp turned Lewandowski into a great striker but he signed him for 4.5m and went from 9 goals and 4 assists in his first season to 30 goals and 12 assists in his second season.

It's why the all strikers miss shots defence is a nonsense.

People would have far less of an issue if he was hitting the keeper, they were getting blocked or keepers were making crazy saves but people scratch around for equivalent misses for players like Haaland and, until a month ago, the best they could come up with was a miss in the the charity shield in his first competitive game 18 months ago, 65+ games, 65+ goals and 10+ assists later they were treated to another example when he knocked one over the bar for 6 yards out.

With Nunez you can often cite the same types of miss in consecutive games or multiple examples over a 5-10 game run with little to show for it.

58 goals in 25 games is relatively free-scoring, no? More league goals than Arsenal, too, for example.

I meant recently, I think the attack has broken into a set of individuals, they aren't doing basic things to make it easier for each other at the moment. They need to focus on working to make things harder for defenders, as a unit, as at the moment they are all just making it harder for themselves.

As poor as he's been, Darwin has been feeding on scraps recently.

There was always an element of that with Mane and Salah, sometimes very publicly, Firmino was the player that made that attack work and turned it from a collection of talented individuals into a fully functioning unit.

As much as I want him to succeed his inability to score the simple chances, and hold the line, is killing us. In the position we are playing him we need goals. Chaos may be fun, but do you know what's even more fun? Goals. Real, actual goals.

Where's this free scoring side you mention?

We are the 3rd highest scoring team in the league. In fact we have scored more than the team on top of the league.

It's churlish to believe we dont score many. And even worse to excuse Nunez's contribution of 4 goals to our total of 36 because we supposedly aren't free scoring. Yesterday was the first time we have to failed to score all season.

Well sorry to be such a churl, but I was talking about our current form. Which is shite and like running into a brick wall whenever we come across a low block.

And I don't believe I made any excuses for anyone. Maybe quite churlish of yourself to suggest otherwise...

He barely got a sniff yesterday but worked his arse off. We needed Szobozlai feeding him. Give him a fucking break.

This. He might just be able to do more if someone could find him with a decent pass or cross. There is absolutely nothing coming from either wing at the moment.

Haven't city completely change the way they play to accommodate haaland?

Yeah, they started playing with an inverted defender alongside a 6 and then pushing two more progressive 8's further forward so their were more players in and around him....wait....

Ironucally, when Trent switched to a proper central role and Gomez came on we started whipping in the type of balls he might've preferred.

He's not doing well, but we're also approaching getting the best out of him in a very strange way. In those hectic last ten minutes, when it was stretched, he'd have been well suited.

The quality of the 40 (!) crosses we put in yesterday was poor.

Going beyond just yesterday though Darwin has a tendency of making good passes look like nothing as he often doesn't even get a decent shot off when he receives them.

The back post header yesterday where he tried to pass was an example along with the numerous others in other games where he's fallen over his own feet
