He has one system and cannot seem to adapt from it.

People always reach for this complaint when things don't go well, but what does it really mean? Shankly had 'one system,' so did Paisley, so did Ginsoak, so did Sacchi, so does Guardiola, and so on and so on. Managers like to play a certain way, with changes in emphasis depending on the shape and standard of squad, but I'm not aware of any great manager who has had multiple 'systems'.

If it comes to rigid 'systems' or flexible ones, again, if you look closely, most top managers are far more flexible than some think. Klopp's 'system' has changed quite a bit from the first couple of years to what it is now. Just go back and look at the games. So the claim he's unable to 'adapt' is just blatantly, ineluctably, untrue.

This stuff rarely gets challenged, but it's lazy and misleading.

System,Scmystems. Any plan of action is only as good as the people you have to carry it out. We've gone from the SAS to Dad's Army in a matter of weeks.

Lazy and misleading is a good way of describing responding to a message originally posted on 01/02/2021. So it might be worth reading the post that it's relation to rather than retro fitting it to now.

So there's a respond-by date to dubious ideas? How convenient.
