Having Ali & Diogo around him will help Darwin’s transition. Absolutely outstanding today on the pitch, and with an attitude in the post match interview of real pride and love for the club. Legend.

The way he encouraged Nuñez to say something in English made me think he's probably a good dad, too.

Should really be winning a few titles when he's with us.  Look at it this way, we won't be improving upon him.

Definitely something in that, though it's debatable that a better defence would negate the need for him to perform heroics, ergo, we could win things with a lesser keeper in the future.

We made a similar argument when we didn't win things with Gerrard, we've never had a better midfielder since he left but....

I guess the other ten Klopp has generally put out with Alisson are a lot better than any of the ten Gerrard generally played with.

Alisson's like peak-level Salah or Suarez in that he turns draws into wins and losses into draws.

Not nominated for the yashin Trophy.

Football is for dickheads.

He's no... *checks notes* Brice Samba.

The list appears to just be keepers who were in teams who won something or came close to doing so. Samba because Lens were second in Ligue 1. The Croatian lad because they did well in whatever International tournament was on. Ramsdale because Arsenal weren't really shit last year.

If it were on ability the first two picks would be Alisson and Oblak. Yet neither were nominated.

It's weird though, if you talk outside our fan base of the best there is, he rarely gets in the conversation, which I can't get my head around.

He didn't get in to the 10 man shortlist for this year's Yashin Trophy.

Fifa managed to leave out the two best keepers in the world.

Tribalism and bias rarely delivers clear thought.

I don't know if it's even that. I don't think the media big him up. He's rarely discussed as one of our best players, despite the fact he's possibly more important than Salah. When you compare the positive noise that came around ramsdale from the day he went to arsenal and he's nowhere near alisson's level. And I think alisson is getting better. Yet I think the broader football world just doesn't see it.

I actually had this conversation with a spurs fan before the season started and he was taken aback when I said alisson was easily the best keeper in the league. Then he said "yeah, he is good, but I'd never thought of him" and then when he thought a bit more he was "you're right, he is a really good keeper".

The only thing about Allison I could possibly have a criticism over is that I sometimes think he could take more responsibility in the six yard box. For such a big, athletic guy he should be winning more of the ball there than he does. But it’s not debatable that he’s the best in the Premier League, and probably in Europe. It’s a testament to him that he makes the job look easy a most of the time and therefore isn’t having to throw himself around like, say, Pickford does and because of that, he doesn’t get as noticed by others.

I can't remember if I've said this before but I think it's because Alisson makes everything look so easy and is always in the right position.  When you see keepers like Ramsdale flying across goal making spectacular saves, its often because they weren't really in the right place to start with.

It's the same as how the best referees in football tend to be the ones that you haven't heard of because they are so consistently good.
