A friend of mine runs a make-up school and has just heard from one of her old students who has been working on Robin Hood. She crashed her car on the way to the set and was telling her colleagues how she couldn't afford to get it repaired. The next day Russell Crowe came into the make-up trailer and gave her the cash to buy a new car.

“That’s very reassuring”.

Apologies for going off topic here, but I saw a DVD of 3:10 to Yuma for a couple of quid in a discount shop the other day. But I was kind of put off when I saw one of the endorsements on the front was from 'that shitrag', so I said I'd see what the feeling was about such things on here.

Don’t let that review put you off Pal, the film is based on an Elmore Leonard storey and well worth watching.

It’s a terrific tale with possibly the finest closing scene Hollywood has ever produced.

That said, I never knew Crow gave Molby a kicking.

How dare he.

The Aussie thespian is clearly philistine trog who makes lousy movies.

Worra twat.

I came into this thread so I could add the tag "fightin round the world", only to find some rapscallion had got there before me!

Who is responsible for this insolence, step forward so I can rep you!

Bubbles put the tag up. I also immediately thought of Crowe and his old mate Tugger.

According to American journalist Nicole LaPorte, Russel Crowe was a "puffy pain" in the neck who twice walked off the set of Gladiator and threw a wobbly because he didn't like his famous line at the climax of the film, "And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next."

After being persuaded to deliver it, Crowe is said to have told director Ridley Scott that he still thought it was a "shit" line, adding: "But I'm the greatest actor in the world and I can make even shit sound good."

: "But I'm the greatest actor in the world and I can make even shit sound good."

And he did, as well.

Fantastic movie, was my favourite movie back in the day, and I watched it again couple of weeks ago for the nostalgia. Loved it. ("Back in the day")

Great actor
