I felt sorry for Ngog last night - he didn't receive the ball at all, and on those rare occasions it came near him, it was at shoulder height and impossible to control. Was good to see a bit of confidence coming back in the second half, and it was great to see a Liverpool team without Kuyt in it. Almost made me restore my faith in Benitez. We were poor and very vulnerable in the first half though. We had a lot of the ball, but offered nothing until after they scored. Rather than come flying at us, they sat back again and paid us too much respect. We really need to improve if we want to progress in this.

Thought after the initial setback we went about our business very well.

Mascherano is in good form and a fantastic strike.

Shame about Skittles though, he has played himself in very well - I guess Carra back at centre half and Kelly right back if he's out for a while?
