With the way the greed in the game, the sportswashing, the ridiculous imposition of international football on the club game, the absolute shitshow that is VAR and officiating and the loads of other examples of the shiteness of modern footy continue to accelerate and destroy the game - I'd fucking love for us to beat these to the title this season and have a proper presentation of the trophy at Anfield and a proper celebration/parade etc and then I can walk away from the bastardised and soiled version of this game i used to love so much on a high, content and happy, and before it as it undoubtedly will descends to the coming depths that will make the shitshow it is right now look like a golden era.

I'm going to miss this one, because I'll be traveling back from holiday in Italy.  Here's hoping for something great that I'll regret missing.

Just get these beat, Reds.

From Rome to Runcorn, the fun just never ends for you lad!

Just had one of those memory things pop up on Facebook. It was 8 years ago today, great night in New Brighton…. watched us beat City 4-1 in a pub, followed by a gig by the great Nils Lofgren at the Floral Pavilion.

I was in the North End Pub in Leiden, Netherlands before going to watch The Stranglers. A fantastic evening.

Will be interesting to see how we handle the South American players. Curtis Jones and Gravenberch not having been away could work well for us if we don't want to start them. I'd give Gomez the nod over Tsimikas for this one.

Nunez could be a devastating second half introduction if we keep it tight. We can name a really strong side with Nunez, Mac Allister and Diaz as second half subs. I reckon Mac Allister starts instead of Gravenberch below, though.

                 Alisson

Trent   Konate  Virgil  Gomez

                  Jones

       Szloboszlai Gravenberch

Salah       Jota       Gakpo

Nunez starts hopefully even if he can only do an hour. Fed up of watching our attack huff and puff while he sits on the bench.

Actually, I thought today was Thursday. There's really no reason why he shouldn't be in a position to start.

While we do tend to raise our game against better opposition, I think it's fanciful to imagine that a team which could only manage draws at Brighton and Luton in its last two away outings, which only has one win in the last 14 at City, is going to come away with all three points. If we get a solitary point it will be a small miracle.

Hearing this is Jurgen’s pre-match pep talk.

Weren't Jones and Gravenberch on the dead list before the break?

Would not surprise me at all if they still are....

I used to have something of a soft spot for the team that was formerly Manchester City. I was there when Luton Town relegated them, and for some reason I felt something of an affinity with them, as they played out their role as pathetic losers.

This shower of cheating fucks are not that club though. My dislike for them continues to grow.

We shall win, and do so handsomely. The world is about to turn, good will begin to triumph over evil again. An era of peace, love, respect, and a desire for humanity to ‘do the right thing’ is about to commence.

Historians will look back on this period, centuries from now, and agree it began the day a plucky Liverpool team turned up at the Ethiad and left with a 0-4 victory.

They showed the world that there is another way. From that day, a possibility became a movement, a movement that became a way of life.

On Saturday, Liverpool will beat Manchester City. They will also save the human race.

Like the French high command circa 1940 in here, fuck that.

Whenever we've played them in the past, midfield has been their strongest part of the pitch while simultaneously being our weakest. Watching Henderson and Milner playing against the likes of KDB was like watching dogs bark at a washing machine.

Sauce for the goose this time I'd say. The odds, will be even.
