Pep 2 days ago "We're not gonna rush Jesus back for the Liverpool game". Comes on tonight and scores. Shut your fucking cake hole Pep. You're not clever.

If we play like we did tonight they can play both Jesuses and we will take them the fackin' cleaners

He’ll be a wreck by the weekend.

They’re under so much pressure because of our defensive injuries and they’re at home.

They beat us and it’s “So what, you should be beating them”.

They don’t and it’s “Well, what’s the excuse Pep??”

We are getting a free hit and even a draw is a fail for them.

The Etihad has not been a happy hunting ground for us in recent years. On numerous occasions it's been because of some REALLY questionable refereeing (Sterling's non-offside, Kompany on Mo, Sadio's red card when similar incidents elsewhere merely merited a booking), some bad luck or some bad defending and decision making from us.

And yet this fixture was one of the first of Klopp's reign. On the 21st November 2015, despite Aguero getting a goal for City (he always does against us at the Etihad), we smashed them 4-1. Mangala started the rout with a comedy own goal, Bobby got off the mark to score his first for the club, and Coutinho and Skrtel got the others. We remained inconsistent in the league but that was the year Klopp got an inconsistent squad to the final of both the League Cup and the Europa League.

Adele was number one in the charts with 'Hello'. It's an alright song, not terrible but not the world class ditty her fans and some in the media would have you believe. And it was better than the songs that followed it at the top (consecutive shite from that bellend Bieber). A Swedish-language version of the song was used in the Viking funeral scene in Umbrella Academy to really good effect, humanising the remaining Swedish assassins as they mourned the loss of one of their own.

We could do with luck falling our way in this game, as well as doing the right things. In the post-lockdown game last season, we were still drunk having clinched the title the week before and we didn't play well. Uncharacteristic mistakes all over the park. If we do what we are capable of, we can certainly return the favour. It's about time we did.

As do I. While Jota is clearly the player in the best form of the two, I think we'll rely more on Bobby's pressing from the front in this one. I don't think it's wise to sit back against this City team, much better if we can deny them playing. I think we'll see Bokby and Matip starting in place of Jota and Williams. Perhaps Keita in for Curtis as well.

Think we've got a good chance of beating these this time.

Smash 'em lads

I was feeling anxious about this, we haven't been great recently but tonight has almost proved that we have been pacing ourselves and can switch it on whenever we want to.

So now I'm a lot more confident, the young centre backs have stepped up, players are coming back from injury, we're still scoring plenty, Jota and Salah are looking sharp as fuck.

Meanwhile City are out of form, suffering their own injury issues, and aren't scoring a great deal in the league. They've only managed to score more than one goal on two occasions, and one of those they still lost 5-2.

They'll be up for this, but they are there for the taking to be honest.

Hmmmm, Im not so sure. I thought Bobby was very poor when he came on, absolutely no pressing of the ball and very sloppy when he did get it. Might have been a little unlucky not to score with the chance he had which might put a different complexion on it.

I love Bobby but he simply hasnt cut it so far this season. Add in Jota's scoring and it's Jota for me with Bobby on the bench for Sunday (always presuming that yard dog hasnt kicked him out of the game).

I'd start Jota , ds, but I think Jurgen will go with the tried and trusted.
