The pitch.

Is it finally getting done this summer? Heard that the old stand will be dismantled and the pitch area will be used by the equipment. So,does that leave any chance for the pitch to be done. It's long overdue. 15 years old with a 10 year old shelf life it is.

I think they'll reseed it again like they did last year, with a full pitch overhaul the following summer.

If it were up to me, i'd be looking raise the pitch level by a half a metre and properly level it off (it has a significant slope at present). The current 2nd row at the front of the side stands would become the new front row, and perhaps the 3rd/4th row of the end stands would become the new front row - slightly elevated but allowing the pitch to be lengthened by 2m at each end. You might be losing a few seats from the front but this will be more than made up for by the seating gains from redevelopment and expansion so it wouldn't be necessary to completely demolish any of the existing stands. The space between touchlines and stands would be slightly more than at present but not too much so as to lose the closeness of the stands. Since the end stands would start further back than at present, the roof fascias of the end stands could be set further back too so you'd be removing any restricted views.

Nope. Rodgers wanted a new pitch installing this coming summer but the main Stand development knocked that on the head.

They need to get equipment on the pitch to take down the 'old' roof and there'll not be enough time to dig up, re lay and bed in a new pitch before the start of next season.

It looks like it's been left a bit long. If so, it's probably deliberate as the grass is usually left longer on rugby pitches anyway. Also, it means the groundsman won't have to deal with too many divots when cutting the grass down ready for football.
