Luckily we've now got a squad that can compete when we do get a few injuries. Last season one or two injuries we had Aspas or Moses coming off the bench. Now we could see talented players like Markovic or Lallana giving their first starts or a chance for Cou to show his pre season form.

I think it's common practice for the youngsters to train with the first team during international breaks so as to get the numbers up for training sessions.

That said, I've got a lot of time for Cameron Brannagan, he's a lovely midfield ball-carrier. Bit surprised that Jordan Lussey wasn't called though.

Yes, it is common practice. The pics on the offal yesterday were taken from a full training session, with all players returned from international duty, which makes me think that we may see a few of the youngsters mentioned, in the squad for the League Cup game against Middlesbrough

Didn't Wellbeck have a similar goal scoring return as Sturridge before he came here? Spent most of his time at United out on the wing too and he's a year younger. I'm sure Wenger could help sort out his game.
