Just watched an episode of Mr Pickles. One of the strangest things I have ever seen. Not sure a normal rating out of 10 can do it justice really.

Yeah I've seen Mr Pickles. Very strange. I checked out the other programmes on Adult Swim after watching Rick and Morty, The Venture Bros is also good as well, worth a watch too.

Odyssey (American Odyssey)

 

Been watching this sporadically the last month or so in 2 or 3 episode flurries after taping them off BBC2.  Interesting story of corporations sponsoring terrorism, a lawyer trying to stop them, a journalist trying to expose them and revenge the death of his father and an american soldier (Anna Friel no less) who was meant to be killed to stop her exposing the truth running for her life in North Africa. 

 

Enjoyed this on the whole but jesus there was some terrible, risible acting.  Out of the main cast of 5 or 6 Anna Friel was the best by a country mile and she wasn't even that good.  I lost track of the number of times a character had a furrowed brow or widened their eyes at a shocking moment and I started laughing.

It shouldnt be having a second season,at least not one focusing on the first one's main topic.

My guess is that it may focus on other cartels as well,who filled the vacuum.

Agree with that; I thought they'd wrap up the main story line in the last episode.

 

Although, like I say, I'm really looking forward to the next season.

My perception of Narcos is that it was more or less the Memoirs of the DEA agent who does the voiceover and will be based on his own involvement. He said at the end of Series 1 that Colombia was 'home' at that time.

Ballers - Not bad.  A poorer version of Entourage.  Rob Corddry funny as usual.  John David Washington (Ricky Jerret) is excellent in it.  6.5/10

I got to about a quarter of the way through episode 4 and switched it off. Still had no sympathy for or interest in any of the characters.

 

Too much effort to make it seem all mysterious and like it had depth without it actually having any for me. The whole thing just seemed to drag on and didn't have anything going for it.

 

Amazed that it had such good reviews.

 

I did think the sister was fit though.
