Odyssey (American Odyssey)

Been watching this sporadically the last month or so in 2 or 3 episode flurries after taping them off BBC2.  Interesting story of corporations sponsoring terrorism, a lawyer trying to stop them, a journalist trying to expose them and revenge the death of his father and an american soldier (Anna Friel no less) who was meant to be killed to stop her exposing the truth running for her life in North Africa.

Enjoyed this on the whole but jesus there was some terrible, risible acting.  Out of the main cast of 5 or 6 Anna Friel was the best by a country mile and she wasn't even that good.  I lost track of the number of times a character had a furrowed brow or widened their eyes at a shocking moment and I started laughing.

6/10

Finished Narcos last night. 8/10.

It's fucking class, but feels a bit rushed in parts, and the last episode was probably a little anti-climatic.

Still: I can't wait for the second season.

It shouldnt be having a second season,at least not one focusing on the first one's main topic.

My guess is that it may focus on other cartels as well, who filled the vacuum.

Finally polished off BSG last night and for a pretty damn good show they don't half make a spiritual mumbo-jumbo filled dogs dick of the end of it.

They took a risk with the sci-fi crowd, didn't they.

Is anyone watching Bloodline on  Netflix?

Two episodes in - well acted but not yet really hooked - not rooting for or against any of the characters yet

I got to about a quarter of the way through episode 4 and switched it off. Still had no sympathy for or interest in any of the characters.

Too much effort to make it seem all mysterious and like it had depth without it actually having any for me. The whole thing just seemed to drag on and didn't have anything going for it.

Amazed that it had such good reviews.

I did think the sister was fit though.
