I think United, and a whole lot of their fans, underestimate the effect that no CL football (and a shite manager) has on their pulling power.

United were struggling in the transfer market before the season started, hence their last minute panic buy of Fellaini for £4m than they needed to pay. The thing that has hurt their pulling power most is the retirement of Slur. Losing CL football will just compound it even more.

It's going to be hilarious watching every half-decent (and quite a few quarter-decent) players in Europe with less than two years left on their contract dropping hints via the press that they have always wanted to play for the famous and massive Manchester United only to put pen to paper with their existing club and leaving Moyes desperately chasing any possible signing at the end of August. Everton should raid a few Conference graves, the Chosen One will give them £30 million a pop.
