A German manager, the way forward?

Code, you've put a lot of time and effort into missing the point there.

True, there's a lot to admire about the Bundesliga. But the thread you started isn't about Bundesliga managers: it's about German managers.

I stand by my point that our next manager's nationality is irrelevant to his chances of bringing the good times back.

Of course it is.

But since a top German manager never really have got a chance in the PL before and the fact there are a few very good candidates out there, most of them at the time I posted this thread not mentioned at all I thought it could be a interesting way to look at it.

Hitzfeld have been mentioned a few times lately though, especially after the CL final when people (press) became aware he actually had won the CL with two different clubs.

The more I think about it though, the more I like the idea about Jogi Low, especially as he`s out of contract after the WC as well.

He would be interesting....rumour has it that 2006 was his influence - Klinsmann was just a figurehead/media darling (a theory backed up by his performane at Bayern). He likes his teams to play attacking football and gives youth a chance.

That said I do not want anyone to take charge until the owners have fucked off.

Hitzfeld is apparently in talks with Fulham according to the Independent.

Could not see that one coming, fuckin depressing stuff.

If Fulham get him they've done brillaint to get a far better manager than their last one, and 2.5m profit.

We should've been in for him.

Didi: I'd love Kop return

Dietmar Hamann has revealed his ambition to manage Liverpool FC one day in the future.

The Istanbul hero is currently player-coach at MK Dons working alongside manager Karl Robinson, assistant John Gorman and Alex Rae. The German midfielder played for MK Dons during Saturday's 1-0 win over Hartlepool United and he is clearly enjoy the challenge.

"I can gain invaluable experience and learn things from Karl, Alex and John every day while I am doing my coaching badges," said Hamann. "I want to play this year and then see. "When I have my Pro licence, I will see where I am wanted. I would like to stay in this country but you never know.

"And it would be nice to go back to Liverpool one day and to work in some capacity, play some part. Obviously to manage them would be a dream come true."

I doubt Hodgson is on much dosh at Fulham (relatively speaking) so it will probably be him. Cheap, cheerful Woy.

That's if he doesn't rule himself out.

I can't possibly see us going foreign for this appointment.

Called correctly, 27 days ahead of Roy's appointment. Touch me.
