The "not good enough" team

Alternatively (and for a bit of fun) here's another team you could post of players that Rafa signed and then got rid of:

--------------Itandje

Josemi--Pellegrino--Paletta--Kromkamp

Gonzalez--Zenden--Sissoko--Leto

------------Nunez

-----------Morientes

Kromkamp still pisses all over Insua

Well Rafa wanted Crouch and Alonso to stay.

We made good profit on Carson, Bellamy and Sissoko.

Rafa didn't buy Cisse it was already agreed before he came.

The rest cost the club little financially, with Morientes and Keane the biggest losses.

good bit of fun if nothing else.i think this team would easily give them a great game!

---------------crouch-------bellamy-------------

-garcia-------alonso---------sissoko-------pennant

--warnock-----hyypia-----arbeloa-------finnan--

--------------------dudek----------------------

I hate to say this but that team would likely crush the one we played at Fulham. And that is a sad indicment of our current state of affairs.

He may have wanted crouch, alonso and hyppia to stay but his poor man management and marginalisation of those three players alone is reason why they left.

Alonso is well documented but when you try flogging one of your main players around Europe to bring in that mega star barry, well, you cant tell me anyone wouldnt want to leave on their own terms.

Crouch having once been a central figure was also marginalised by benitez and even left out of the 2007 CL Final until the last few minutes. Crouch says he was 'forced out' by benitez but he would say that, wouldnt he?

Hyppia wanted to finish his career here but again, he was marginalised in his last two seasons before being dropped from the CL squad altogether. In his final game for us at anfield benitez considered it fitting to give Sami the 'last minute of the game' for his farewell until the crowd forced his hand to put him on earlier.

Sorry, you can dress it up any way you want about players 'wanting to leave' but you have to look at the wider picture.

Benitez wouldnt be in the shit he nows finds himself to be in if he man managed a lot better.
