John Arne Riise scored an absolute stunner for Norway against Greece tonight. The score at half time is 2-2, but Riise has been, so far, by far the best player on the pitch.

Riise had pretty much the perfect game. His goal was a stunner (reminded me a little by Fowler against Mancs in the Cantona comeback game) and he hit perfect crosses all the time. He also had a nice one on Samaras where he grabbed his nuts from behind and Samaras threw himself to the ground and got booked for diving. Fucking hilarious.

 

Greece is a fucking disgrace and spent most parts of the game pulling time, diving and cheating.

Funny thing is that people over here keep saying he always does that for Liverpool and never for Norway even though he's scored two goals for Norway in the last five games.

 

What Rafa should consider is letting him take more corners and crossed free kicks as he's been extremely accurate with them for Norway lately and has two assists against teams like Argentina and Greece.

He is mate. I watch him every week. I don't want to sound like a Riise basher because I like him and think he's a good squad player but his crosses rarely beat the first man and his free kicks tend to go straight into the wall. Please don't use a couple of pre season goals as evidence for your argument because when it comes to competative matches his free kicks are by and large shit.
