Valencia reserve keeper came on the pitch and squared on jawed a milan player (not sure who) then they were chasing him around the pitch south american style. Never seen anything like it and i only caught a little bit of it.

I know I should be all "these shocking scenes damage our beautiful game" and everything, but I've had a beer or three tonight and so found the whole thing highly entertaining.

 

It was a shithouse punch from Navarro, but having decided to go for it, I have to admire the way he siezed the moment and really gave it all the beans. If Burdisso played for any other team, I might have a different opinion, but I can't stand Inter, so fuck him. He's got a face like a bag of hammers anyway, he should consider it free cosmetic surgery and be grateful.

 

Anyway, all that was good enough, then just when I thought it couldn't get any better we cut to the tunnel, where Toldo just loses it and decides to take the home dressing room on his own. When the Valencia staff all piled in after him, with Cambiasso trying to fight his way through them, I thought my sides were going to split.

 

There will most definitely be tears before bedtime when UEFA get through with this - their flagship tournament being beamed all over the world with that kind of malarkey going on isn't going to impress them.

 

Over subsequent months though, all of the punishments will be appealed away through a complicated process of indeterminate length and legality, possibly featuring a equally complicated series of financial negotiations. The final verdict will be that Navarro has to buy Burdisso a very big tin of Quality Street and a box of those ludicrous plasters that Robbie used to wear.
